All protein originates in plants. Animals eat the plants, and humans choose to eat the animals. Vegans simply get their protein from the source...PLANTS! Instagram account Dr.Vegan gives a great illustration of where you can find protein from the most common foods for anyone's diet! The chart illustrated here is directly from the Instagram account. @dr.vegan ! Give the account a follow and tag us when you do!

Many believe that retail milk and eggs do not mean that animals are killed, because the nature of harvesting such products do not involve killing an animal; however, the agricultural action of harvesting these products does involve the killing of animals. Cows must first give birth to their babies, and have them torn away at birth, so that they may produce milk. When their usefulness is "dry", the cow is then slaughtered for red meat consumption. If a male cow, or steer, is born, it will be immediately slaughtered for veal cuts of meat. When chickens are born, the hens, female chickens, will survive to lay eggs, and once their usefulness is complete, they will be killed for meat consumption. The baby chics that are born are immediately grinded, alive, for chicken nugget and cutlet forms of chicken meat. Supporting these two retail food items is supporting the suffering and death of animals. Illustrating this answer is too graphic for this faq.
Pain is the representation of stimulated nerves in an organism, along with the interpretation of that stimulation. For example, pain is created when we eat spicy food, but it is easily tolerated by most. Trauma such as being cut or punched really hard gives us a reaction to that level of pain, because of our brain and instinct. Plants do not have a nervous system or pain receptors, they do not have a brain to interpret this pain, that they cannot feel, and they do not have survival instinct in reaction to the interpretation of the pain that they do not feel.

These reasons are different for everyone; however, there are 3 major reasons that a person will choose a vegan lifestyle and diet. These consist of HEALTH, COMPASSION FOR ANIMALS, and SAVING THE ENVIRONMENT. Having all 3 reasons is the best way to maintain a sustainable vegan lifestyle, no matter how you start.
The answer to this question may surprise you! Vegans care about all life. There is a balance that must be maintained throughout the world, and vegans attempt to keep this balance. Inadvertently, vegans care more about the health of humans, we just do it without the harm of other forms of sentient life. Doing so makes for a better environment, more compassion in the world, and healthier humans.

No, is the short answer. The more detailed answer is more complicated to explain. There are seemingly more animals on Earth than humans because of the level of animal agriculture that has been taking place for the passed 50 years or so. The world would be more overrun by fruits and vegetables than animals, if everyone went vegan.
To fully answer this question, it is recommended that you visit a licensed dietitian or medical professional. When changing your diet to include and exclude foods that you've been consuming regularly, weight distribution will change, as well. Because weight is combination of diet and exercise activity of an individual, the answer to this question is not a clear "yes" or "no".
Here is the simple distinction to define these 3 terms.
Vegan - an individual that chooses a lifestyle that does not involve the consumption of animal products in their diet, does not purchase clothing or accessories that involve animal products, and does not participate in events or actions that cause harm or suffering to animals, including humans
Vegetarian - an individual that only practices a diet to not consume meat. This individual still consumes eggs and milk in their diet
Plant-based - an individual that has committed to refusing to consume any animal products in their diet, including milk and eggs
